Quick answer: A 90 day challenge is a commitment to keep a new habit, or stop an old one, for 90 days in a row. This free planner turns your start date into 13 dated weekly themes, daily check-ins and milestones at days 7, 30, 60 and 90. It's built for quitting porn but works for any habit.
How to use the 90 day challenge planner
- Enter your start date. The planner dates every week from it.
- Choose up to three triggers, for example late nights, stress or boredom.
- Choose replacement habits, such as walking, reading or calling a friend.
- Pick a daily check-in time, ideally before your riskiest hour.
- Download the plan as a PDF or add the milestones to your calendar (.ics).
Nothing you enter leaves your browser. If you'd rather count in an app, Raze tracks the same 90 days with a streak counter and daily challenges.
Your 13 weeks, dated
Here's the plan for a start date of 2 November 2026. Each row shows the first day of that week.
| Week | Starts | Theme | This week's focus |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 2 November 2026 | Set up | Blockers on, start date logged, phone out of bedroom |
| 2 | 9 November 2026 | Triggers | Start a trigger log; spot your top three |
| 3 | 16 November 2026 | Replacements | Pick two replacement activities for risky hours |
| 4 | 23 November 2026 | Sleep | Fixed bedtime; screens off 30 min before |
| 5 | 30 November 2026 | People | Tell one person or join a group |
| 6 | 7 December 2026 | Movement | Three short workouts or walks |
| 7 | 14 December 2026 | Review | First month review: what worked? |
| 8 | 21 December 2026 | Stress | One stress tool you'll actually use |
| 9 | 28 December 2026 | Routines | Lock in morning and evening routines |
| 10 | 4 January 2027 | Social | Plan the weekend in advance |
| 11 | 11 January 2027 | Slip plan | Write what you'll do after a slip |
| 12 | 18 January 2027 | Long term | Decide what happens after day 90 |
| 13 | 25 January 2027 | Finish | Day 90 review and next goal |
Day 90 falls on 31 January 2027 (counting the start date as day 0). The themes front-load the practical setup, because the first two weeks are when most people report the strongest urges.
Why 90 days?
Ninety days became the standard NoFap "reboot" length through online communities rather than clinical research (Wikipedia: NoFap). It's still a useful length. In one well-known habit study, new daily behaviours took a median of 66 days to feel automatic, with a range from 18 to 254 days (Lally et al., 2010). Ninety days gives most people enough time for new routines to settle, while still feeling finishable.
There's nothing special that happens on day 90 itself. Treat it as a checkpoint, then decide what comes next.
Worked example
Sam starts on 2 November 2026. His top triggers are late nights and boredom on Saturdays. The planner gives him a 22:30 check-in, puts "phone charges in the kitchen" in week 1 and "plan Saturday afternoons" in week 10, which he moves to week 3 because Saturdays are his biggest risk.
He slips on day 19. Instead of starting the plan again, he logs it, notes the trigger (alone, bored, Saturday), keeps going with week 3 and resets his count. On day 90 his longest streak is 52 days, and his urge log shows Saturdays are now rarely a problem. That's a successful 90 days, even without a perfect count.
Checklist before you start
- Start date chosen and written down
- Adult website limits switched on (Screen Time on iPhone or Android equivalents)
- Phone charging outside the bedroom
- Two replacement activities ready
- One person or group to check in with (accountability partner)
- A plan for what to do after a slip (relapse prevention plan)
- Milestones in your calendar
Other 90 day challenges
People use the same structure for fitness, saving money, learning a skill or quitting alcohol, and for pairing several changes at once. If you're combining goals, such as no porn plus daily exercise, keep each one small. It's better to complete one 90 day challenge than abandon three. Our self-improvement guide has ideas for stacking habits sensibly, and the NoFap milestone calendar prints the key dates.
